I am currently not accepting new orders, in order to reorganize and upgrade my shop and work on some new designs for fall. Feel free to browse the site, and check back later to see some of the new board designs coming out.

My
name is Kate, and Katherine Louise is the brand-name I chose for
my line of leather products (Louise is my middle name).
I have worked as a information technology and computing specialist/consultant
since around 1983, and started making leather game boards to give me a
diversion from computers for a few hours a day. (No, television doesn't
quite do it for me.)
What got me started was an idea for a leather game board. Game boards
made from leather is nothing new; I had seen game boards at craft shows
and other places, but had some ideas of my own I wanted to explore. It's
one thing when someone tells you they like what you do, but it's a fantastic
compliment is when someone asks whether they can purchase what you make.
After showing my boards around, I started getting requests to make them
and other items from hand-tooled leather.
So
I started actively marketing them on ebaY
to see if there was a strong interest in them. The response was a resounding
"YES!", and I quickly began building up a body of positive feedback
from those who had won auctions for these boards. With that kind of encouragement,
I decided to build this web site to give people a convenient way to order
what I make. And I welcome any inquiries for custom designs. You can email
me at kate@katherinelouise.biz
I still offer some of my items on ebaY
for auction, but most of them are only made to order and can only be purchased
from this web site, or from one of my resellers.
I plan to develop more items for sale on this web site, such as game boards
for other games like Chinese Checkers, Backgammon, Parcheesi, Go, and
Pente, plus storage/carrying bags for the game boards and game pieces.
I'm also developing a line of decor items, such as clocks, mirrors, tables
and other furniture items with tooled leather designs. Check back from
time to time to see recent additions to my product line.
